Ligue 2

Ligue 2 is the second tier of professional football in France. It is organized by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) and serves as the primary league for clubs that aspire to compete in Ligue 1, the top division of French football. Established in 1933, Ligue 2 features a competitive format in which teams play each other in a round-robin style, with points awarded for wins and draws. At the end of each season, the top teams are promoted to Ligue 1, while the bottom teams face relegation to the Championnat National, the third tier of French football.
