Premier League

The Premier League is the top tier of professional football (soccer) in England. Established in 1992, it is contested by 20 teams that compete annually from August to May. Each team plays 38 matches, facing each opponent twice, once at their home ground and once away. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL) Championship, meaning that the bottom teams in the Premier League are relegated to the Championship, while the top teams from the Championship are promoted to the Premier League.

The Premier League is renowned globally for its high level of competition, financial power, and the presence of many of the world’s best players and managers. It is broadcast in numerous countries, attracting a vast audience. The team that finishes the season with the most points is crowned the champion. Points are awarded based on match results: three for a win, one for a draw, and none for a loss. The league is known for its rich history and has produced numerous iconic moments and teams.
